Description: This WW2 Japanese IJA Arisaka Type 30 School Training Rifle Bayonet & Steel Scabbard is in fair condition overall shows expected signs of age, service and storage. The blade is unmarked as is typical amongst this style bayonet and production was carried locally by small workshops. The original blunt edge of the blade has been lost and it has been roughly sharpened at some point in the past. The hooked quillon crossguard is crudely pinned into place but is intact and securely attached. The wooden grips are secure and appear to be in good condition overall, no cracks or other damage can be found. Of note, a faint "3" stamp can be seen on one of the grip panels and this is most likely a "rack number." The pommel is also properly unmarked with a serial number and the press stud is a slightly different shape when compared to those of a standard Type 30 bayonet. The press stud is free and appears to function as intended but it is uncertain if the mortise slot is the correct size for a Type 38 or Type 99 rifle. The steel scabbard is in good condition overall but also displays expected signs of age and wear from use, namely a few dents near the point end. No stamps or markings can be found on the scabbard however it strongly appears to have been with this bayonet for a very long time and could be original to it. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of contents and condition.
