Description: This auction is for a master hobbing die used to make the female tooling for producing (stamping out) WW I Infantry Officer's collar insignia. The high definition 1903 Springfield Rifles measure 2" in length. They show the magazine cut off on one side and the bolt hanlde on the other. I do not know which company would have used this. A master hobbing die is a precision hardened steel tool used to create a female impression in another piece of steel that is then hardened and used in production. Rare item in great condition for the collector of 1903 Sprinfield's (why I bought it years ago) or the WW I insignia collector. Free shipping!
