Description: Rare WWI Austro-Hungarian Trench Knife Model 1917 and measuring 13" overall with a blade length of 8-1/4". Single edged, bright blade, rare and desirable maker marked by Joachim Winternitz Neffe on the Ricasso. Steel cross-guard with what looks like a cartouche underneath. Very nice looking wood handles with mellow age patina and with 3 hand carved grooves on side and top. Comes with the original steel scabbard and cord. All tight with no looseness.
