Description: Vintage Red Wing 8" Steel Cap Toe Boots Men's 15 D Very Rare 8" Heritage Iron Ranger Style - fantastic example of the classic American Work Boot. Boots are in excellent condition. Uppers, insoles, welts, hardware, laces and corded soles are all in outstanding condition. Vintage boots where the tongue tag dates from the 70's and perhaps runs up to the 90's. I don't know that Red Wing considered these as 8" Iron Rangers but I do know the construction of these boots aligns perfectly with the modern heritage iron ranger you may know from today. While the boots are 8" and have steel toes which is different from the usual cap toe - the rest of the boots construction like the back stay overlay, cap toe, and stitching is all Iron Ranger. The insole is leather and styled as a sweat resistant insole (a feature for vintage boots). Another feature is the hard wearing corded soles which Red Wing will still use from time to time in heritage boots. The boots have New leather laces from Red Wing. The upper leather reminds me very much of the famous Amber Harness leather of so many of their boots. The boots are unlined except as to the vamp and toe area which has a canvas liner (same as Iron Ranger). I saddle soaped the boots and applied Red Wing Leather cream as a conditioner. all as pictured - nice boots
