Description: Vintage MCM Murano Glass Aldo Bon Labeled Polar Bear Figure/Sculpture - EXTREMELY RARE - Made in the 1960s-Measures roughly 4"H x 6.5"W x 3"D - Heavy - Original importers label is on the bottom.-A few base edge fleabites/small chips and a very minor scuff above right of the Bon label.-The only other Bon animals I have ever seen shopping and in multiple collector archives are a fish, a clown, and a few ducks.-Here is a bit about the maestro which can be found by typing his name and time magazine in a search, along with murano net. I cannot put links here, otherwise I would.-Murano Net: "Known as Polo. Born in Murano in 1906 where he died in 1988.Master glassblower at Aureliano Toso's in cooperation with Dino Martens from 1939 to 1955.Together with Adriano Quarisa in 1960 he established the Vetreria Artigiana Aldo Bon, also in the same period he worked for Fucina degli Angeli. He exhibited at the 1964 Venice Biennale. His son Bruno, currently director of Aureliano Toso's, worked with him."-Sept 20, 1954 TIME magazine excerpt: "Old Master Aldo Bon blew steadily for three hours on Picasso’s Burlesco. Exhausted in the end, he gasped: “What a sweat!
