Description: This is a 1960s era pure silk short sleeved blouse - normally these were made in China but there is no label stating so and the label actually looks more European than Chinese, so I think that it may be European, perhaps Austrian, as the silk is really a cut above quality wise. The blouse is embroidered in an intricate floral design with lace cutwork in a matching cream white/beige to the background. The collar is squared and there is no neck closure, so a V shaped neckline with a small lapel is formed by the opening. It closes with five covered buttons down the front and there is embroidery down the front where the buttons are. The short sleeves have a cuff that is also embroidered. This came from the estate of a lady who was an Austrian emigré - she owned a clothing store during the 60s and 70s, and although this has no tags, may be old store stock. Label: Pure Silk / Soie Naturelle / Reine Siede Sizing: Size 36 is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit keeping in mind that it should fit somewhat loosely: Shoulders: 15 1/2” across from seam to seam Sleeves: 7 1/2” from shoulder seam Bust: 39” around Waist: 34”, but meant to be tucked in Overall length: 23” Condition: It is in excellent condition - as mentioned, I think that it may be old store stock as even the spare button is still sewed to the interior. This has been well kept and stored over the years. This is a beautiful blouse with gorgeous embroidery - super quality! Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
