Vintage 1960's Emo 20 ATM Diver w/Warm Patina,All SS Case,Tropic Strap

A complete overhaul is recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage Emo diver has a glossy black dial that is in near pristine condition. Please note that some dust has settled on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser extend the surface of the dial. The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The bezel, which shows considerable wear and does not rotate likely due to gunk buildup underneath, has faded to a grayish hue. The all stainless steel case shows minor wear and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL ANTIMAGNETIC" with "100%" followed by "WATERPROOF TESTED,""20 ATMOSPHERES,""61831" and two stars stamped in the center. The crystal shows scratching. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale, the case back on this one is torqued to what feels like factory specs and is too tight for me to do so. A skilled watchmaker will have no problems doing so. The automatic movement with quickset date function runs strong, albeit a bit fast, and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am as it should. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement ran about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 42 hour power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering that it has likely never been serviced (the case back shows no signs of ever having been removed) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. This watch comes on a gently used, fully pliable one keeper 19 mm Tropic band w/signature Acier stamped flared buckle. The long end measures approximately 121 mm while the short end measures approximately 84 mm excluding the buckle. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering that it has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
