Vintage 1950's 50s Strapless PINK Tiered Tulle Party Prom Wedding Dress Gown

Description: Description An absolutely gorgeous original 1950’s strapless prom dress in an enchanting confection of cascading pink mauve tulle. There are soft lavender undertones to the pink. This dress was likely originally designed as a wedding or prom gown and is certainly lovely enough to be worn at a very special occasion. Maker’s label reads "Chenault's Joplin", presumably a high end ladie's boutique in Missouri, USA. Note the details on this stunning dress – the strapless (boned) form fitting sweetheart bodice with horizontal pleating at the bustline, adorable vintage rose millinery bouquet and especially the incredibly full multi-layered tulle skirt. There are three layers to this skirt – a shell pink satin acetate lining, a single middle layer of pink tulle to give the skirt additional volume, topped by an outer layer of tiered pink tulle.This dress closes down the side with a hidden metal zipper and fastener. The entire dress is lined in shell pink satin acetate. The dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included. No vintage size label, so please see measurements below for a proper fit. This is a small size which would best fit a modern size 2 or small size 4. Measurements Bust – 33-34” Waist – ideally 24--25” (possibly 26" with a tight squeeze) Hips – full Length – 52.5” Torso length – 10.5” (strapless – waist to bustline) Skirt length - 42" (waist to hem) Condition This dress is in very good to excellent vintage condition. No exterior stains and underarms are clean. Only a few minor defects to note. There are two small repairs to the tulle on the lower front skirt. These were professionally repaired using transparent filament thread and with the volume of fabric, are inconspicuous. If spotted, they resemble jagged creases. The bodice side seams were taken in at some stage and have since been let out to restore the dress to its original size. On close inspection, tiny stitch perforations are visible.
