Description: The Hobbit is the classic tale from J.R.R. Tolkien that provides an introduction to the author's fantasy world of Middle Earth. This second edition book includes minor corrections identified by readers and revisions by the author that align the Hobbit narrative with that in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which itself was shortly to be published for the first time, in 1954. The author's note (inclluded in the listing images) provides more detail. Opposite the title page is a color illustration The Hill : Hobbiton-across-the-water. All eight black and white illustrations by the author are present and in Excellent Condition. "Thror's Map" in black and red on the front inner & "Map of Wilderland" in black and red on the back inner are in good condition with some foxing evident.
