Description: Captain's Table - glassware (Kapteenin Pyt) was designed 1963 by Tapio Wirkkala and manufactured by Iittala glass factory. I'm selling the carafe decanter of the series. Design of this glassware is made for boats and ships. The bottom has matted surface so it doesn't slide so easily. Heavy wide bottom helps it not to tip over. Also there is a small pump in the bottom to place it over something or hold your finger there. The top part is wood and cork to keep it floating in case is falls to water. Stands 22 cm (8.5") tall. Bottom diameter is 13.5 cm (5.25"). Signed "TW" for initials of Tapio Wirkkala. In great vintage condition. No chips missing, no cracks or similar defects. The neck has a small production related spot which can be mistaken for a chip but it's not broken. It's a small air bubble or other similar round and clean spot that happened during manufacturing process. (Last photo) I ship world wide and wrap with care.
