Description: This 7027A push pull, integrated, mono, 30 Watt tube amp is in good overall cosmetic condition. I powered it up slowly on a variac and operated it at 110 volts into an 8 ohm, 90 db/ 1 watt/ 1 meter sensitivity speaker. It produces low level music using an FM tuner thru the tuner input. There is intermittent static, moderate hum, and snow on channels A and B. The amp needs to be checked out by a technician and repaired as needed. These are great sounding amps when working properly. It has outputs for 4, 8, or 16 ohm speakers. It has A and B output channels so you can run A, B, or A +B speakers. There is only one set of inputs, both speakers will reproduce the same single channel mono input. The transformers are very heavy, the entire amp weighs apx. 30 pounds. The early 1960's RCA 7027A old stock tubes are considered to be some of the best sounding 7027A output tubes available. I purchased them from Vacuum Tubes Inc. in Florida, $90.00 for the pair, apx. 2 weeks ago. This is a reliable source for hi quality NOS, and used old stock tubes that I have used for over 10 years. The amp indicates 7027 on the chassis but the 7027A is a direct substitute in all 7027 amps and will handle up to 600 volts compared to 500 volts for a 7027 tube. These will probably last longer than a standard 7027 tube. The two 7025 preamp tubes, the 5V4GA rectifier tube, and the 6U8 tube are all labeled Stromberg Carlson. All tubes test very strong for mutual conductance and emissions on two different tube testers and there are no shorts. The tubes alone in this unit are worth apx. $225.00.
