Description: Sing Out! The Folk Song Magazine November 1964. Good condition, with some wear to corners and along spine. Interior clean and unmarked. Contains the famous "An Open Letter to Bob Dylan" by Irwin Silber complaining that "you seem to be in a different kind of bag now, Bob -- and I'm worried about it...you somehow lost contact with people. It seemed to me that some of the paraphernalia of fame were getting in your way." Silber goes on to complain that Dylan should be writing protect songs instead of Dylan's new "inner directed" songs that are maudlin and cruel. The "new" Dylan is "relating to a handful of cronies behind the scenes now -- rather than to the rest of us out front ... [while the old Dylan] never wasted out precious time." Cover and article on John Hurt at the Newport Folk Festival. Also Tom Paxton, calypso, Sam and Kirk McGee and much more.
