Description: Shuar Tribe Shrunken Head from equador, this one is hand crafted from llama by tribe members. In great condition. See my other ad for a smaller head made from capybara. Shuar people call a shrunken head a tsantsa, also transliterated tzantza. Many tribe leaders would display their heads to scare enemies. At present this practice is no longer done due to government policies. Now the heads are made from the Shuar tribe as part of their tradition but hunting capybaras that are also part of their diet.
