Description: For auction is a lovely jardiniere made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Pinecone" and it is done in their green background glaze. This pattern and color is one of Roseville's most desirable to collect. The jardiniere is a nice size as it measures 6 1/4" in diameter outside handles measurement. It is 4 1/8" tall and the foot has a diameter of 2 11/16" and the top opening is 4" inside measurement. The vase has a very pleasing soft green background glaze with undertones of white glaze on the center body of both sides. The jardiniere depicts a pair of realistic handles in the form of a branch. On one side the branch handle is much larger than the other side. These are attached just under the neck. On each side of the jardiniere is a brown pine cone nestled between pine needles that come off each handle. These pine needles extend out from the pine cone and into the body of the jardiniere. The pine cone is crisper and more detailed on one side than the other but they are close. The inside has a wonderful creamy beige with light green glaze and is clean inside. This was Frank Ferrell's most popular design that he ever created while working at The Roseville Pottery Company. In fact, the company would have had to close it doors if it wasn't for the success of this line in the Mid to Late 1930's. The Pinecone line was considered the most popular line ever made at Roseville Pottery and that is still evident today. There are 4 colors that Pinecone was made in and they are Blue, Brown, Green and Pink. Pink Commands the highest price and are rarely seen. Blue commands the next highest price with Green very close and Brown being the least desirable. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips or major dings. There is some crazing on the inside from use but it is clean. The piece is signed on the bottom with the "Roseville Pottery" triangular foil label mark along with the mold number 632-4 written in a red grease pencil. This mark is hard to see but under bright light you can make it out. This is a quality piece of art pottery that will enhance any art pottery collection, especially those of you who collect Roseville Pinecone in green. This vase was made circa 1935-45. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
