Description: A stunning antique English Edwardian solid 18k gold sapphire and diamond 7-stone ring, hallmarks for 1912. This super pretty antique Edwardian solid 18k yellow gold ring has 7 gemstones with a central beautiful oval faceted cut 0.4 carat natural sapphire which glows the most lovely deep sea blue when it touches the light, the ring with a further sapphire on each end and two pairs of pretty sparkling white natural diamonds in between, the gemstones prong set with an openwork setting with light catching wave-like edges, the ring with a gently graduating band-a glowing, glittering delight for the finger! The ring has English hallmarks inside the band with the crown for gold, '18', the Birmingham town mark, date letter 'n' for 1912 and partial maker's mark '...Ld'. The ring tests for 18k gold. The ring is approximately a size 5 1/4. The ring measures approximately 12mm x 7mm across the face. The central sapphire measures approximately 4.4mm x 4.0mm x 2.9mm or about 0.4 carats, the other two sapphires measure approximately 2mm and the diamonds about 1mm. The ring rises about 4mm above the finger and weighs approximately 3.1 grams. The ring is in general very good condition and looks lovely on the finger. Seen under a loupe one diamond has some chipping to the edge. One diamond and one small sapphire look to have been replaced. The ring has been resized.
