Description: This is a genuine Hubley Yellow Cab from the late 1930's. I have had it in my collection for almost 20 years. The body and chassis are original and have great patina. The white rubber tires are replacements, of course. The driver is probably a replacement, as I believe the originals were painted, not plated. The vehicle measures about 7.75 inches long. At the rear of the cab, the body originally had two bosses projecting out over the bumper mounts. These bosses acted as mounts for the fold-down luggage platform, but they must have broken off at some point. I expect that they could be restored by a cast iron expert, if needed. The luggage platform supplied here is a replacement, and it can be displayed folded up as shown in the photos but obviously it no longer has a way to fold down. So while this item is being sold as-is, it offers a mostly original Hubley toy that is very presentable.
