Please do not miss my many other lovely Art Glass Paperweight Auctions by various Well Known and Famous Artists Short History: Sammy HogueSammy Hogue has dedicated much of his life to the glass industry, establishing himself as a skilled handmade marble artist. He’s also ventured into the world of machine-made marbles. Well-respected within the marble community, Sammy is admired for his contributions to marble production, his enthusiasm, mentorship, and strong character. When Dave McCullough, the production manager at JABO, Inc., left the company in early 2012, it came as no surprise that he and Sammy would team up to create "Sammy's Mountain Marbles." Having been neighbors and friends since childhood in Pennsboro, WV, Sammy and Dave began producing vibrant 5/8" marbles together on July 4th, 2012. Their partnership continued until late 2013, when they decided to part ways after a difference of opinions. During their collaboration, along with Richard McKnight, a former JABO operator, and other associates and occasional run investors, they completed sixteen marble production runs over the span of fourteen months.Though Sammy is known to be quite private about his machine-made marble production and doesn’t actively sell the marbles he creates, it’s known that he’s continued his efforts in this field. He acquired machinery from JABO, Inc., and as of 2020, he’s been experimenting with 3/4" marble production. As more samples and details about his recent work emerge, the story of Sammy's Mountain Marbles will undoubtedly evolve.
