Description: This auction is for a very nice, 1940's Roseville art pottery Magnolia pattern ashtray. This lovely piece was purchased from a Baltimore County estate. This is a nice honest example Roseville Magnolia pattern ashtray. The Magnolia pattern originated by Roseville pottery in 1943. It has an organic low-profile form with a pair of dainty handles and a rim made to form fit your favorite ciggies, (see pics). It depicts a pair of lovely magnolia flowers, small branches and leaves in high relief. This example is decorated in a multi green colored matte glaze. This nice ashtray has a profile height of 2 1/8" tall with a handle-to-handle measurement of approx. 7" and a base diameter of 5 1/4". It is signed on the bottom, Roseville 28. The condition is very good with a minor flake on the very bottom and mild signs of crazing inside and on the bottom. All in all, a lovely example and to be a fine addition to your Roseville art pottery collection/fine decor. Please check my other auctions for nice antiques, collectables and such.
