Never has an item been so necessary but basically totally impractical to use. Without this oiler the sling cannot be put on right and to make your carbine correct you need one. These oilers have been very hard to find lately and ours is marked IS which would be correct for any carbines like Irwin Pedersen, Quality Hardware & Machine Co., Internation Business Machine, and Saginaw carbines). But considering the reality of things the US Military was not too concerned about which manufacture of oiler went out with which carbine.
