MERCED, CA US Dept State recognizes CA Artist: CA Hwy 59 Merced River

Description: My works are now recognized by the United States Department of State Embassy. A painting was recently picked up and to be placed in a US Consulate residence overseas! CA 99 at Merced River 12 x 9 oil on canvas panel framed Hanna’s work is simple and was painted on site off CA 99 plein aire style I have been traveling this highway for about a year and always wanted to stop and paint this particular location which is an overpass of the Merced River, Merced County, California. In the distant background are the Sierra's heading toward Mariposa and on toward Yosemite. The surrounding landscape is divided between ranching, vineyards and orchards. This is the central valley of California. It was a sunny afternoon as I started into the work this early April. Although it is 'dry' and will fully dry within a 6 month~year period, it is now sealed with a varnish and ready for framing. It is oil on canvas panel unframed but shown in the 'correct' plein aire style frame. If you're a collector of California artists, although I am a 'returning' artist I was graduated from Cal State and Stanford Univ back about fifty years and have many works available from Laguna to the Desert hwy 40 Ludlow.
