Description: On offer, we have an original WWI poster French by artist Lucien-Hector Jonas (1870-1947). "Les Alsaciens et les Lorrains sont Francais!" (Alsace and Lorraine are French!) shows an Alsatian woman with her hand chained to a brick wall. It demands freedom for Alsace and Lorraine that were lost to Germany in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. It is signed by the artist in the print. At the bottom is "J. Cussack. Imp. Paris" and "Visa No. 11.922". The lithograph is mounted on thick linen and measures approximately 30" X 18". This is in very good condition. The print is bold and clear. There are 2 original fold lines, a couple of fingerprints. Any wear on the edges is reinforced by the linen. As I am not an expert on art, please view my photographs. My wonderful friend is moving to a smaller home and parting with some of his treasures. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping when possible.
