Description: 👀 RARE ANTIQUE FRENCH Cut Crystal JEWELLERY CASKET, COFFRET BOX Gilded Bronze Mounts Hobnail 6.5” x 4.5” - C1920-30 (I have included a photo, the last one, of an identical cut glass box which has the “made in Italy” marked in the gilt bronze work. The box that I am selling is not marked….but would not hesitate to say it must be from the same source as it has the same pattern in the metalwork, the same identical cut and is the same size). This listing is for a sumptuous large HEAVY, Italian rectangular, clear cut, VERY ATTRACTIVE, crystal box in a similar style to Baccarat, with hobnail diamond cut pattern in the center and bordered by large crosses…(kisses). The base is star cut. A gilt bronze metal mount is embossed with flowers and scrolls border the hinged lid and the upper top. A double hearts with DOUBLE FLEUR DE LIS, Gorgeous antique hand cut crystal jewelry casket or box circled by ornate gilt bronze mounts. The two sections have been joined with gilt metal hinge and a decorative border with ornate scroll designs. The crystal is cut in an all over diamond point or hobnail pattern accented by a 16-point starburst at the bottom. The jewelry coffret has a small ornamental clasp with a double Fleur de Lys motif serves as an elaborate clasp or clip. This magnificent antique hand cut Italian, crystal jewelry box dating from the early 20th century. It has been created in the classic Charles X style and features a hand cut base and lid. The large rectangular casket features deeply facetted sides which beautifully catch the light and sparkle…..🤩. Great special gift for Wife, girlfriend, bride, fiancée, anniversary….or to keep just because you can’t bear to part with it. Looks lovely on shelf, bookcase, coffee table or indeed Dressing Table. This may have been done at the time of making as the two diamond hobnail cuts merge. I did not spot it until I took close up photos. Please see all photos. The gilding and bronze metalwork is in good condition commensurate with age. The clasp works well….and only needs slight pressure to lift it.
