Knights Templar / Masonic sheath and hilt for 23" blade, complete, brand new

Description: Offered are a brand-new sheath and hilt for one of the various Masonic-themed swords wih a 23" stainless steel blade. Compare the hilt and sheath fittings to those on the Masonic / Templar pattern swords sold by various vendors. The sheath and hilt, both, have aluminum fittings plated with brass; the sheath, additionally, is covered with faux black leather, while the black portions of the hilt are sturdy ABS plastic. If you have a blade you're interested in fitting to the hilt -- the slot inside the crossguard fits a tang 1/2" wide, 1/8" thick. A wider tang, still 1/8" thick (this is pretty much the standard blade/tang thickness of the small and medium-sized display swords of this general type), can be filed or ground to fit, no problem. Most blades have a steel threaded rod welded to the end of the tang, to pass through the hilt assembly and secured with a nut. You can see in picture #2 that the pommel of the sword simply pulls off of the haft, or grip, and in picture #4 you see the hole in the pommel and the end of the haft for the threaded rod to pass through, with a nut screwed tightly into place and the pommel then replaced (usually with a dab of epoxy, unless you're one of those with a compulsion to take things apart and put them back together until the pieces are so worn they won't assemble tightly, any more...). On this particular model, the hole through the hilt and the end of the haft is drilled for a #8 sized threaded rod; this is very thin, therefore very flimsy. If your existing blade has a thicker (usually either 3/16" or 1/4") rod, drill the holes out to match; if it's the larger 1/4" size, you also need to enlarge the hole through the center of the guard. Drill CAREFULLY from the rear, running the bit out the front. Assemble and call it done.
