Description: This is a professionally framed vintage original painting by renowned Haitian artist Joel Gauthier. On a relatively small canvas for Gauthier, he manages to gracefully feature four animals: a lion, tiger, leopard, and zebra in foliage and flowers. The stretcher measures 10" x 12", sight is 9-5/8" x 11-5/8", and it's 11-1/4" x 13-1/4" to the outside of the frame. It reads beautifully, although as I mentioned in the condition description, there are some areas of very subtle craquelure, and one tiny dot of loss of paint (see top left detail). There are also a few rubs on the finish of the frame that could be easily addressed. I'm also selling what seems like the partner painting to this one, by "Pierre Louis" - it features two chickens/roosters, and they were framed together and sold to me together, so it's clear that they've been considered a natural pair, but of course that's not mandatory!
