Description: These striking Jewelcraft earrings have colour, impact and personality despite being around 70 years old! They have a flattering winged shape and an eye-catching array of orange, gold and rootbeer rhinestones dotted with tiny enameled leaves. Both earrings are signed Jewelcraft in script on the clip. Although the signatures are very worn and faint they are recognisably Jewelcraft. The clips close gently but securely and the rhinestones are all present and original. Please look carefully at all the images as the earrings appear at first glance to be silver in colour. On closer inspection it is apparent that they used to be gold! The goldtone has completely worn away and is only visible in a few places which are better protected such as the inner surface of the curve and in deep indentations on the reverse. The rest has disappeared completely leaving a shiny bright silver. The pink enamel has also disappeared from one of the leaves. This ought to be a major deficiency but, in truth, the earrings are remarkably pretty despite this significant wear. I have taken all of this into consideration in pricing the earrings.Authentic vintage jewellery signed 'Jewelcraft' was made in the United Kingdom by the most popular and prolific manufacturer of costume jewellery throughout the 50s and 60s - the American company Coro.
