The 14K Multi-Color Solid Gold Case with Box Hing is what makes this Extra Large pocket watch truly special, it comes with scallope edges and a very impressive multi-color star adornment on the caseback along with a diamond in the middle. In addition it weighs a whopping 151.3g! Inside the watch an Illinois Watch Co 18s 15j Grade 61 movement serves as the timekeeper, it dates from 1890. Condition-wise the watch is running well but we've not tested it extensively and we do not know its service history so we cannot guarantee timekeeping accuracy or longevity. We strongly recommend to have antique pocket watches fully serviced before putting it to regular use and this will help extend the life of the timepiece as well. The decision and responsibility to service the watch is made solely by the end-user. Cosmetically the bow is gold-filled and it has already worn through with brassing. The case itself is in very good shape with no visible dings or dents from the outside although it has been polished in the past with some of the ornamentation details and the original presentation intials already shallow to the touch. The dial has no visible hairlines or chips. Overall it is a grand antique pocket watch with an impressive case that has true box hinge. Diameter is 54mm, total weight 151.2g.
