Both medal and cross were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was designed and handmade by me in our home in the USA. The single Our Father bead is a smooth, round, genuine Blue Adventurine. The ten Hail Mary beads are alternating faceted ruby red Czech glass - chosen for the saint's martyrdom - and natural, genuine Tiger Eye. All eleven beads are 8 mm. He learned the languages of many native peoples and wrote about them to assist other missionaries. He was taken captive by a group of Iroquois, was ritually tortured and killed. St John is probably the most famous of the Canadian or North American Martyrs. He was canonized in 1930. The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper.
