Goldenrod Flower Tea - 1 lb/454 g bulk

Description: Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) flower herbal tea - 1 pound / 454 grams / 200 servings At 1.5 to 3 grams per tea bag, one cup of tea is on average (3 - 1.5)/2 + 1.5 = 2.25 grams (454 g/lb) / (2.25 g/serving) = 202 teabags/cups/servings These are freshly hand-picked goldenrod flower tops from the Escambia region of Northern Florida in the Autumn of 2023. they are slow dried over several days in an appropriate-heat, low-UV-light dehydrator to minimize loss of antioxidants and vitamins. This package contains the dried flower tops with no further processing - see our separate listings if you want goldenrod already prepared in tea bags. Goldenrod tea has a great mild taste and is often consumed with a little honey, sugar or syrup as sweetener. It is also a great tea to take in combination with roselle/rosella/florida cranberry/gongura/Jamaican sorrel (Hibiscus sabdarrifa), yaupon holly (ilex vomitoria) (the richest natural source of caffeine amongst American native plants) and wild sunflower (Helianthus annuus), all grown and produced at Escambia Lakes. They we also produce a Goldenrod syrup and you should try our Roselle syrup with your Goldenrod tea! This herbal tea is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants (richer than even green tea) with anti-inflammatory and mildly-diuretic properties. It is recommended as morning/daytime, not evening, tea as it is mildly diruetic (can increase tendency to urinate). The term "solidago" in the scientific name "Solidago virgaurea" means "to make whole." Historically, goldenrod was typically applied to the skin to help heal wounds and prevent infections. Native Americans chewed on the leaves to relieve sore throats or toothaches. Goldenrod has been used to treat tuberculosis, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, high blood pressure, can help reduce inflammation, relieve muscle spasms and fight infections. Goldenrod is not linked to any typical allergies nor to hay fever. The 1 lb bag contains approximately 500,000 or more seeds and can be used to start your own bountiful goldenrod crops, enough to plant an entire acre (43,560 sq-ft). Goldenrod is a natural, sustainable method to fixate nitrogen to your garden and farm soil (enrichs soil with nitrogen). Increases of nitrogen levels can increase the growth of other beneficial crops in your garden and farm soils. Goldenrod is a valued flower for beekeepers and benefits from bees. The pollen from goldenrod is too heavy to be blown by the wind, and it has to be pollinated mainly by insects, incuding bees. Honey from goldenrod is dark and strong, and can sometimes have a spicy taste.
