Gerber Gator Premium Fixed Blade Drop Point Hunter Knife Leather Sheath S30v

Description: The Gerber Gator Premium is a perfect example what a knife company can do when they pull out all the stops and make a quality premium knife with premium steel in the US. This knife had a short run about 10 years ago and was popular but I’m sure the bean counters put an end to such fine knife. In my opinion gerber hasn’t made anything as nice since this was discontinued. Anyways this is a Premium knife with American made S30v stainless steel from Crucible. S30v has fantastic edge retention and durability. With other knifes I own that are S30v it’s easy to gut and cape a deer without sharpening. The leather sheath is thick and has a plastic insert to protect the leather. The rubber gator grip is impressive and you can really hang onto this thing. The aluminum pommel and finger guard really separate this knife from others. The design is based on the Bob Loveless Classic Drop Point Hunter. He first designed it in the 70s as an ideal hunting knife. Many knife manufactures have very similar designs. They made a folding version of this as well but the blade is a clip point instead of a drop point. They are going for $300-400 on eBay. I am listing this knife as new, it is really sharp and is in fantastic condition. The knife has a nice mirrored finish. The sheath looks like it has light shelf wear after 10 years. The sheath is in overall really good condition but I will be picky. It has a few light scuffs and paint is coming off the button snap. Also a crease or 2 in the sheath.
