Description: An original George Moser desk clock with walnut veneer and brass trim with crystal glass and his signature ornate brass inkwells. As this is signed on both the movement and dial with "Moser" and "A Paris," it was made between 1850 and before 1860. It is a rear-winding mechanism and utilizes the Paul Garnier chaff-cutter escapement. This has been in the family for as long as anyone can remember and, while it was used and kept time perfectly, it has not been wound in many years. In fact, it could use a thorough cleaning of both wood and brass (which will shine like gold) and a tune-up by a professional Horologist. There are no chips, cracks, or major blemishes on any part of the piece. If you are an enthusiast or collector, then you know that this is a very rare item and will appreciate it's elegance and design.
