It was like this when I acquired the game, and I'm honestly not sure why the inner contents are in such good condition while the exterior of the box looks like someone tried to tear it apart. But whatever the backstory, I have NOT attempted to "repair" or tape the box in any way, since I wanted to leave that process to the next owner's discretion based on their preference.
