Description: Offered for sale is a beautiful antique carnival glass JELLY COMPOTE or OPEN CANDY DISH made in the early 1900s by Fenton. It is made of clear glass, with bright marigold orange iridescence on the top. The stem is clear without any iridescence. The pattern is FINE CUT FLOWERS. It appears to be the same pattern as the earlier PENNSYLVANIA pattern made by U.S. Glass. The inner surfaces are smooth, and the rim is flared and worked into six lobes. The compote stands 5 1/4 inches (13.3cm) tall, and measures 6 1/4 inches (15.9cm) in diameter across the widest part. The base measures 3 1/4 inches (8.3cm) wide. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a lovely antique carnival glass piece for your collection! It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs. The iridescence at the top is bright and shiny with minimal wear. There is no maker's mark on this vase, but the pattern is known to be made by Fenton. Exact date of manufacture is unknown, but this compote appears in catalogs from 1908/1909.
