Description: “Razor blade micro rust" refers to tiny, almost invisible spots of rust that can form on a razor blade, often caused by moisture exposure even after drying. Even small amounts of rust can significantly dull the blade and irritate the skin. Preventing micro-rust is accomplished by dipping the blade into skin-friendly oil, and storing away from moisture allowing the oil to preserve the sharp edge. NOTE: WHAT IS FOR SALE IS ONLY THE BLADE HOLDER AND THE OIL. (You can use any regular size coffee cup, and buy blades at a grocery store.) Using proper oil and a specially designed drying holder, the most we’ve used an individual blade was 6 months while shaving 4 to 6 times a week. It could have gone longer, but what the heck - they aren’t that expensive if you replace them every few months. Imagine shaving every time with a 2 or 3 day old blade for months - still sharp and smooth. We created these colorful drying holders out of hardened surf board epoxy. We have also tested various skin-friendly oils to see which works best to prevent micro rust and which over time dissolves the rubber blade glide. Nothing beats a new razor blade on its first day, however using the proper oil and blade holder allows you to reuse a razor blade that time after time has the feel of a blade on the second or third day! It fits neatly in a standard size coffee cup along with the oil which should fill the bottom to about 1/8” depth. Dimensions: 1 7/8” wide, 1 1/2” deep, 7/8” tall. Made in the USA.
