The 2x4.5 ml = 9 ml concentrate must be diluted in one gallon of water, which is enough to treat at least 50 chickens. Or you can dilute 1 bottle of elector PSP 4.5 ml x 0.5 gallons of water for at least 25 chickens. Poultry veterinarians recommend Elector PSP as the most effective, safe and easy solution for eliminating mites and lice from your flock WITHOUT HATCHING! Elector is safe for you and your backyard chickens. Due to its multiple mechanisms of action, mites and lice do not develop resistance to it. Elector PSP, a spinosyn class insecticide, acts as both a larvicide and an adulticide, killing adult flies and their nits after ONE application when used correctly. Must be stored in a cool, DARK place until use; light destroys the active ingredient. Prepare solution immediately before use. Shake well before and during use!!! Dilute 9 ml of Elector PSP in one gallon of water, or 4.5 ml x 0.5 gallons of water. Pour solution into a spray bottle to apply to all flock members, paying special attention to wetting feathers and skin around the vent and comb of crested breeds. (Pressed spray bottles make quick work of this, but a handheld sprayer will work too.) Treating birds after dark, when they have already gone to roost, is the best way to manage the entire flock while minimizing stress and avoiding chasing anyone. It is helpful to do this with a partner and a headlamp. If red roost mites are present in the coop, treat the coop, paying special attention to crevices.
