Description: For your consideration is this nice sterling silver and green stone (onyx, I believe) necklace. It has 7 nicely carved faces with decorative wire work around the faces. A pretty piece with several indications that it is an earlier piece. The hook clasp is an earlier style. The mark of the necklace is Silver W (I believe W is the maker) Mexico. The necklace has tested as sterling silver. The use of the word silver is documented and predates that use of sterling and eagle marks that began in late 1940s, when the government came in and installed standards. The necklace measures 17 and 5/8 inches when linked. Each face and face setting drop measures a tiny hair under 1 inch by 3/4 inches. The necklace is in excellent vintage condition. The green stone has a tendency to pick up white glare, but all looks great. There is a little very minor bending to a few links as you can see- nothing of great concern. The patina is a bit uneven- easy to polish.
