Description: Up for offer is a really fantastic, original, WWII Homefront poster. “Grow Your Own - Can Your Own” slogan. Great imagery showing a mother and daughter doing their part for the war effort, by canning their own home-grown vegetables. Self-reliance, as well as rationing and conservation efforts, were so important during the war years, so that foodstuffs and materials could be sent overseas, to the men and women fighting the war in the Pacific and European theaters. Great artwork, with a quintessential mother, her apron, and a smiling daughter! Awesome colors. And the shelf in the background, stocked with canned goods, is a nice touch. Measeures 16” x 22.5” , and is overall excellent condition. Does have a 1/2" fold separation at top, and about a 1.5” fold separation at bottom. Easily repaired with archival tape on the reverse, if one so chooses. Super small separation in very center, where folds come together. (WWII posters were most frequently sent out folded flat, by the US Government Printing Office.) This is an officially printed poster by the US Government Printing Office, and is dated 1943. This is an original...not like all the other reproduction crap that eBay is allowing. Ready for framing as is, or could be professionally linen-mounted, to really take it over the top. Great piece for anyone interested in WWII, the Homefront, canning, or just iconic Americana/ephemera. Great piece for the living room, or kitchen. A lot of bang for little buck! Will ship safely packaged, with insurance and tracking.
