The MG34 is mounted on the Lafette ground tripod for employment in the heavy machine gun role, and the MG-Z optical sight is fitted. The gunner is using his binoculars to scan for targets, or maybe to see where the chow wagon got to! A lot of detail in this shot, showing not only the gun but personal equipment and uniform detail. Hard to find shots like this with good detail. This is a very nice photograph from the period, but like many color photos from the era is a but grainy. Size is about 4" x 6", which is a bit larger than many photos from the era.
