Beautiful Madame Alexander VHF Vintage 1959 RENOIR Cissy, Tagged

Description: Vintage and Hard to Find 1959 RENOIR Cissy This beautiful and elusive Madame Alexander 1959 RENOIR Cissy is hard to come by. (She was also made in 1961.) She is in excellent shape with no seam splits in her hard plastic and has nice, even coloring. While she came to me with an orange cast to the skin on her face, I have gone to some trouble to restore it to its original coloring, including baking soda, lemon water and sunshine. She has an elaborate bun with braid and prolific curls styled at the back of her head. Her dark hair is glossy and retains its scanner bar. Her eyes are blue and her lashes are full as the day she was lifted by a delighted first owner out of her box! She boasts her original cameo earrings and necklace and wears a “Diamond” ring any woman of that era - and this! - would be pea-green with envy over, lol! Her beaded velvet purse was missing when I received her, so I have fashioned her a new black velvet purse using the exact same black soutache trim taken from another MA gown which was beyond repair. The heavy yellow slipper satin gown and jacket have never been laundered. The tag is sewn into the back seam (see photo). Beneath the gown she wears her original buckram crinoline petticoat, new nylons, and vintage black strappy shoes. (The elastic which fits behind her ankle has lost its elasticity, so I have knotted it at the back, so they still fit nicely on her feet.) Her “bountiful” bonnet, while retaining all of its beautiful florals, has received new soft black netting as the original was torn and shredded. The pink and yellow flowers had faded considerably, so I “freshened and brightened” them by painting them with RIT dye. Her Madame Alexander hang tag is tied to her left wrist as well! I have added a pair of vintage black fingerless gloves, which seemed fitting to the era. I have also given her a 1955 black lace MA chemise. If her buyer requests, I can send her original panties as well. This doll has been very-well cared-for over the past 75 years, and while she is still a beauty to behold, I am needing to send my girls to loving new homes. Thank you for looking!
