Description: Balcar needed an affordable monolight, and this was one of their attempts at a solution. Taking the same origami technology used in their PLB and VPLB lightboxes, Dick created this budget monobloc. This is (well, should be) a full and complete set of parts from a working 240VAC model. I've never seen one for 110VAC. I've included a second circuit board that is untested for spare parts / maintenance. To run this on 110VAC, you'll need a step-up transformer. I've included a torodial transformer from a Balcar fluorescent that should work, if you want to try it, but no promises. See last photo. Or you can just buy one and plug the Tetra into that. I've also included a Tetra flash tube. The plastic reflector is not included. However, I can send you accurate photos of both sides of one that has been flattened out, including a closeup of the graphics. If you want this you'd have to recreate it. Again, selling this cheap. The catalog mentions a grid for this, but that's probably even harder to find. Disclaimers:Photos show all items included. This is a parts-only kit. You'll need some assembly and light electronics skills to make it all work. No support. If it doesn't work, you can't be mad at me. This is a "make it work" type thing, like one of those YouTube videos where the author restores something. That said, I'll try to answer any questions you may have. I'm donating, dumping or repurposing a bunch of gear currently listed on eBay at the end of Jan. 2025. Some people leave their listings up for years, but not me as I need to make space. If you want this item, get it before then!
