Description: A colorful Kerosene oil lamp made by Rochester Lamp Company that shows off a stylized tulip design. The molded brass kerosene lamp base has a design of bows and tulips resting on a four footed base. The glass shade has an organic Art Nouveau design of tulips with foliage. The base is heavy and holds the lamp firmly. The body has elaborate handles on opposite sides. The repository cap has the word NATIONAL embossed on it. It has an old stock glass chimney that fits the lamp. The words THE ROCHESTER in a florid script is molded into the shoulder. The chimney still has remnants of an old paper label, although no lettering is still visible. I left the label on to show its age, but you probably will want to soak it off. MEASUREMENTS 20 ¾ (52.7 cm) tall x 10” (25.4 cm) diameter. Weighs 4 lbs 9 oz (2050 g) CONDITION There are no breaks or cracks. Although it has been cleaned, there remains a slight odor of fuel. The glass lamp shade has some frits on the top edge. There are discolorations on the metal from use and oxidization. A great Art Nouveau kerosene lamp to add to your décor even if it isn’t strictly Art Nouveau.
