Description: Welcome to my ebay store: Little Lord Fauntleroy! All spruced up and a great display doll. He is a character faced doll by SH that stands 20" tall in his royal blue velvet suit. 3 1/2 mark on back of head. Schoenau Hoffmeister doll with early combination of kid and compo body/limbs and bisque head. Marked SH PB 3 1/2 and is an early Schoenau Hoffmeister bisque head kid bodied doll with wood and compo limbs-- with no other mold numbers. He has two teeth and is 20 " tall and is dressed as a boy in a super sweet vintage outfit. Royal blue beautifully tailored velvet sailor suit type outfit with satin lining, cotton heavy twill type fabric under shirt and pants all close with hooks as is period appropriate. Terrific brass buttons decorate his jacket. He wears a sleeveless shirt with high collar under his blue velvet jacket, has long pantaloons type underwear under his velvet pants, cotton ribbed socks, vintage or antique canvas/oilcloth shoes.His head sports a new buckram pate and an unused vintage sparse toddler style Kemper mohair wig appropriate styled for a boy! I do not glue the pate and wig on if I am shipping as I need to stuff the head to keep eyes immobile in transit. I do tape the pate on for packing. Head restrung to arms with elastic cord same way as original stringing --you can see his arms can hold a nice pose. Legs have original metal buttons in kid , patch at a small tear in the kid leather with a piece of kid, at one knee joint. His compo is in overall great condition for his age. Head is clean, wig is a brand new VINTAGE Kemper mohair unused with tag which are Super hard to find as Kemper has sadly closed for good. This boy is READY to hang out with your girl dolls to round out the collection. For new buyers be aware that SH IS NOT Simon Halbig. SH PB comes from a collaboration of Arthur Schoenau and Carl Hoffmeister, who became partners and created their porcelain factory in 1901, known as Schoenau Hoffmeister Porzellanfabrik Burggrub (SHPB) and located in Burggrub, Germany. Sadly, they had a falling out over making shoulder heads vs socket heads and were separated by 1907 so it is easy to date their dolls. Obviously it is pre 1907.
