Description: Up for sale is a very unusual and attractive white "milk glass" or opaque opal free-blown open salt dish. It has a deep round bowl with a flaring rim, raised on a short baluster stem with a single fat round knop, and an applied round foot with a rough pontil scar underneath. It has no visible "fiery" opalescence and it doesn't pass much light. It is extremely well made and everything about it suggests it was made over in Europe, probably Bohemia, and may be 18th century, although 19th century is equally likely. It's 3 1/8" tall and 3 1/8" across at the rim, as well. It's perfectly undamaged with just some wear/scratching at the rim and a few discolored areas from impurities in the glass. Maybe some slight crizzling around the stem but it is very, very minor. Nothing wrong with this one - satisfaction guaranteed, if you're not in love after handling it in person I'm happy to accept returns. Shipped via USPS Priority Mail at buyer's expense, or pickup in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Please visit my 'Ebay Store' as I always have dozens of other bottles, flasks etc for sale - if you see something else you like, let me know and we can work out a deal and combine shipping!
