Description: Presented is a decorative, sterling silver serving or centerpiece footed bowl made by Gorham in 1893 for retail by Bailey, Banks & Biddle. The sides of the bowl are done in a sinuous, openwork form and there is an un-engraved cartouche on either side. The rim is done in a scroll form and there are shell designs at either end. The center of the bowl has a monogram of the initials HPK. The dish is raised on four ornate feet. The underside is marked with the Gorham hallmark, Gorham date symbol for the year 1893, sterling, a product number and Bailey, Banks & Biddle. This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There are a couple of tiny dings, but they can be removed and are not very noticeable. There are no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs. The dish measures 9 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches, is 3 1/2 inches tall and weighs 677 grams or 23.8 ounces.
