Orders over $10 comes with tracking Super hot peppers take 1-4 weeks to germinate. Ive had seeds wait to germinate up to 6 weeks. Certain super hot varieties may take longer. Under ideal conditions (75-90 degrees) most seeds should germinate within 2 weeks. The best way to ensure your seeds germinate quickly is to place them on a heating pad. Be careful not to set it too hot. (75-90 degrees). Place seeds in soil and bury 1/4” deep. Lightly pack soil over seed. Water 1-2 times daily (very small amounts of water) Make sure you keep the soil moist but not too much for you don’t want to cause fungus or mold to begin growing. I use a spray bottle when I water my germinating seeds because it allows the water to only get to the soil around the seeds. I’ve had some experiences with overwatering and it could potentially ruin a whole pot of seeds. Seeds should begin sprouting within 2 weeks. You can also use the paper towel method to germinate your seeds. First you’re going to tear a paper towel in half and moisten one of the halves.Than you place four or five seeds on half and fold the other half of the paper towel over the seeds.Take a sandwich bag and place the paper with seeds inside and reseal the sandwich bag. Set the bag anywhere out of sunlight that stays at room temperature or above. What the bag does is it acts like a miniature greenhouse that retains heat and moisture for the seeds. You should observe seeds sprouting in about five to seven days. Once your seeds begin to germinate you bury seed about 1/4″ deep with the root pointing down. This is important and may cause the plant not to grow. Cover the seed with soil and press down slightly on soil. Water the seeds and keep adequate ventilation. I prefer the first method because it’s much easier when the seeds are already in the soil but I’ve had both work successfully. Once your seeds have sprouted, you can reduce the temperature to 70-75 degrees and make sure the seedlings get between 14-16 hours of light every day. If you’re growing outdoors make sure you put them in a spot where they can get as much sunlight as possible. Keep them away from temperatures below 50 degrees and above 90 degrees. When transporting outside keep the seedlings 2-3′ apart to ensure plenty of space later in the season. If you plan on planting in a container, you’ll want to use one thats at least five gallons to ensure there is plenty of room for the roots to grow. The bigger the container the bigger your peppers plants will grow and the more fruit it will produce.
