The 10c stamps met the surcharge for First Class non machinable oversized letters. It was also frequently used as a utility rate in combination with other stamps. We occasionally use Brookman minor numbers like "s" and "v" for variety because Scott numbers are inadequate. Technically, 2257s is not a real number but useful to identify this variety. All five stamps are described by Scott as the color 'blue' but there are definite shade variations across the set. If you purchase 2 sets we will automatically ship pairs.
