Description: 1987 OPC #247 Oakland Athletics Jose Canseco In Mint 9 Rarer than Topps in general. Even rarer graded and much much rarer in higher grades than their Topps counterpart. These are the “junk box” years. Hate that terminology, but tonnes of cards produced in mid to late 1980’s thru mid 1990’s. In baseball, especially true, except for premium runs (Topps Tiffany) or the Canadian version of Topps, O-Pee-Chee. OPC supported a much smaller market who was (is) hockey crazy. Although best known for hockey, OPC also printed baseball cards that had a much stronger focus the Canadian Teams and players. These cards were produced for a market that was only 10% the size of the US market. Cards were produced at a percentage much less than that - probably closer to 5% the US numbers. Therefore for everyone 20 Topps cards like above, only one will exist as an OPC card! The card pictured is the card you are bidding on.
