Description: On September 30, 1944, a WWII era B-24 Liberator heavy bomber crashed during a training mission in the Wenatchee mountains, Washington. The crash was due to poor weather and heavy fog. No one on the crew survived. These mountains are now a huge ski resort named Mission Ridge. The plane’s wing is set atop a high altitude point at the entrance to Bomber Bowl. It is believed to bring good luck regarding snowfall on the mountain, and to pay tribute to the crew who lost their lives in these mountains. The base of this lamp was made using engine pieces from the wreckage. I acquired it from an estate sale consisting of an extensive collection of Navy and Air Force items. There is a shade included, shown in the images. I included it but did not add any cost for it. If you don’t want the shade shipping will be considerably less. I also added a nice finial of an Eagle, which I’ll include with or without the shade.
