Description: 1943 R302-1 M.P. & Co. Joe Cronin HOF Red Sox SGC 2.5 GD+. Comes from a difficult to obtain 24-card set issued in 1943 by the Michael Presser & Co. (M.P. & Co.) novelty and carnival supply company based in New York. The American Card Catalog designation is R302-1, although it also is designated W523 since it is a considered a strip card issue. A similar set was produced by M.P. & Co. in 1949 with the designation R302-2, but the 1943 cards are considered scarcer due to their production and distribution during World War II. This example features Hall of Famer Joe Cronin and is a real beauty with vibrant color, clear focus, dark printing on the back and no creases!
