Description: This unique ashtray is a rare find for any collector of historic steamships, 1930's memorabilia, or war memorabilia. It is from the SS Seeandbee. The 500-foot, coal-fired sidewheel steamer was launched at Wyandotte, near Detroit, on Nov. 9, 1912. It was a passenger steamship built for The Cleveland and Buffalo Transit Co. In 1942, the us government reqisitioned the ship, and it underwent a massive overhaul to become the USS Wolverine, an aircraft carrier. With a horse jockey design, complete with a horseshoe, this piece is a true gem. Made of metal and from the 1930s, it is a perfect addition to any tobacco memorabilia collection. The ashtray was manufactured in an unknown country and is not handmade.
