Description: This is a large lot of original photographs done by Arthur G. Macaulay from the 1920s thru the 1940s. He was a photographer for the Stage Door Canteen in New York City. He entered many of these photographs in contests and some have labels on the back as shown. There are many award letters, and acknowlegement letters for photography contests. One of the contests was the 1940 Worlds Fair where he won first prize for snapshooters contest. There was so much I had to spread it out onto two large tables, so I hope you can get an idea of what is included. There was an envelope of 23 original large format negatives that measure 7" x 5" mostly of landscapes labeled that these are of California in 1923. One of the negatives shows a church landscape, and one is of an interior. Some of the photos that he did were of pin up girls, and there are also newspaper clippings, and magazines that featured his photos. The matted photos were the ones entered in contests and they all have wear to the mats and the photos need to be properly adhered again. They are loose within the mats. There is one titled "Blonde Mother Girl & Baby 13 1/4" x 10 1/4", I love the one of some kind of electrical pole 11" x 14", a church landscape 13 3/4" x 11", I also love the farmer titled "Alchemy" 11" x 14", there is one with three boys laughing in the shower 13" x 10 1/2", Baby with Flag 11" x 14", 2 little boys, one is naked titled "N Dis is me Brudder", 2 of the same Lady with Jug that won 3rd place in a contest, one of a janitor mopping, a man looking through a telescope, another baby with flag, some original pin ups, 2 large lady with glasses in different poses, another one of the boys in the shower, a black man with a jack-o-lantern, and another of the two little boys "N Dis is me Brudder", and a few more assorted. Some of the photos have wear on the edges and some folds on corners. Overall this is a really nice lot of photos. Please look closely at my photos for details. Item UP 2311
